چکیده
This paper presents a method for the optimal siting, and sizing of energy storage systems (ESSs) in active distribution networks (ADNs) to achieve their dispatchability. The problem formulation accounts uncertainty inherent stochastic nature distributed sources, loads. Thanks operation ESSs, main optimization objective is minimize dispatch error, which mismatch between realization, prediction power profile at ADN connecting point upper layer grid, while respecting grid voltages, ampacity constraints. proposed relies on so-called Augmented Relaxed Optimal Power Flow (AR-OPF) method: it expresses convex full AC flow, proven provide global optimal, exact solution case radial grids. AR-OPF coupled with dispatching control resulting two-level problem. In first block, site, size ESSs are decided along level dispatchability that can achieve. Then, second adequacy ESS allocations, feasibility operating points verified over scenarios using Benders decomposition technique. Consequently, size, site adjusted. To validate method, simulations conducted real Swiss hosting large amount Photovoltaic (PV) generation.

Optimal Distributed Generation (DG) Allocation in Distribution Networks using an Improved Ant Colony Optimization (ACO) Algorithm
Abstract: The development of distributed generation (DGs) units in recent years have created challenges in the operation of power grids, especially distribution networks. One of these issues is the optimal allocation (location and capacity) of these units in distribution networks. In this thesis, a method based on the improved ant colony optimization algorithm is presented to solve the problem ...

Optimal Combined and Adaptive Protection of Active Distribution Networks Considering Different System Topologies Incorporating Optimal Selection of Standard Relay Curves
The change in the topology of active distribution networks (ADNs) is one of the essential challenges that might affect the protection schemes. The conventional protection schemes based on base topology result in some coordination constraint violations in other topologies due to the outage of upstream substations and distributed generation units. In this article, new combinational and adaptive p...

In the event of a severe incident with a high impact and low probability of occurrence, distribution networks may be separated from upstream networks and several feeders may be disconnected simultaneously within the distribution networks. In such circumstances, to maximize the resilience of the distribution networks and to prevent long-term global outages, they are reconfigured and islanded to ...
